September 12, 2003: Third NIBIB Advisory Council Meeting Conducted on September 11, 2003

The third meeting of the National Advisory Council for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NACBIB) was conducted on September 11, 2003, in Room 6 of Building 31 on the NIH Main Campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The NACBIB is the Advisory Council for the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) at the NIH. Strategic Planning and Training Subcommittees of the NACBIB met from 8 to 9:30 AM prior to the plenary agenda. The plenary meeting began at 10 AM with opening remarks by Dr. Roderic Pettigrew, Director of the NIBIB, and a Director's Report at 10:20 AM. Summaries of the subcommittee meetings followed the Director's report. Details of the NACBIB and the September 11 meeting are available.

September 22, 2003: Sample SBIR Grant Applications Posted

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has posted SBIR Phase I and Phase II sample applications on their website at http://www.niaid.nih.gov/NCN/sbir/app/default.htm. The applications are annotated to highlight important content within the grant application. This site also includes the Summary Statement and Notice of Grant Award for each application. This site can also be accessed through the NIBIB Guide to the Grant Application Process at the NIH which contains useful links and resources about opportunites across the NIH, including tips for writing grant applications, policies for federal grants, and an overview of the peer review system.
