Biography
Dongyu Gu graduated from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, with an advanced degree in organic chemistry. She is now a first year Ph.D. student in Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences working on separation science and analytical chemistry. She joined the PET Radiochemistry Group as a special volunteer to identify and quantify radiotracer metabolites.

Research
Dongyu Gu’s recent research focuses on the identification and quantitation of metabolites of a series of RGD peptide-based radiotracers in vitro and in vivo by LC/MS. The inherent inability of PET to differentiate between a parent compound and its metabolites confounds the interpretion of images and may impact the identification of pathologically induced biochemical changes under investigation. Understanding the metabolic fate of radiopharmaceutical probes is essential for accurate analysis and interpretation of PET measurements.
